What's Your Favourite Pub in Burlington?

Hey Burlington! We asked you where your favourite pubs/bars were. Thanks for all your responses, they’ve helped compile this list. The Purple Heather was the top favourite, with 5 people commenting. Gator Ted’s and Emma’s Back Porch had 4 comments, and the Black Swan and The Poacher had 3; although the rest of the list only had one comment we’re sure there are many who frequent these awesome Burlington establishments!

1. Purple Heather The Purple Heather is located at the corner of Walkers Line and Dundas Street. It was originally called the Purple Heather Gastro Pub until it was taken over by Doug&Alan Birell and Paul Misson took it over. They have live music Friday and Saturday, including ‘country in the Heather’ on Sundays. The new owners are quick to accommodate any request.

2. Gator Teds Gator Teds has been a go – to spot for sports fans for the last 20 years. They have 40 plasma TV’s and 6 103″ projector screens to enjoy all the action on. They have tons of deals on games days too, including a complementary poutine bar on Leaf game nights!

3. Emma’s Back Porch There’s so much history at Emma’s. In 1919 the building was the Estaminet Hotel. It was a premier destination for some of the country’s most important people. Over the years the ownership changed hands many times and it wasn’t until 1992 that it became Emma’s Back Porch and the Water Street Cooker. There’s some great food and entertainment , a must try in the downtown community.

4. Black Swan The Black Swan is a part of the Alton Village neighbourhood. There is loads of live entertainment and free pool Sundays. I haven’t had the chance to eat there yet, but they offer take out and their fish and chips are great!

5. The Poacher The Poacher is a favourite for the younger crowd. Its food and selection of craft beers have landed it at number 55 out of 375 Burlington restaurants according to Trip Advisor. They also have an outdoor patio.
